INTRODUCING
THE CHURCH STAFF
 |
Rev Colin Wood and his wife Mary have
been pastoring at Sharpe Memorial since November 1980 when they arrived
with their 3 young children Rhonda, Carolyn and Richard. Both Colin
and Mary exercise an excellent teaching ministry quickly followed
by a gift in hospitality - their home has always been warm and welcoming,
not to mention some of the best food in the Eastend. Colin's pastoral
heart and his "English Gentleman's" approach has endeared
him to every generation, and is no doubt a strong contributing factor
to the bond that exists between pastor and people over these 25 years.
Colin also acts as District Superintendent for the British Isles North
District in Scotland, Northern Ireland and North England and oversees
the work of the church of the Nazarene in these areas.
Best features - loyalty, faithfulness, and commitment. |
| Ian & Carolyn Wills have both been brought up in the Church from childhood and now find themselves 9 years into their pastoral ministry here. They have two beautiful daughters called Lucy and Sarah. Ian is responsible for the Vision and Strategy of the church, with particular emphasis on Mission and the Community. Preaching and Evangelism are his passion and gifts, with a keen interest in anything sporting especially football. He has retired from playing more times than any of us can remember. Carolyn is a Primary School teacher and is involved in co-ordinating some of the children's work as well as delivering the “How to Drug Proof Your Kids” Course. They have been working together in ministry long before they were married as youth leaders in the local and National Church and as such continue to have a warm heart and connection with the young people. |

Michelle Sowerby is the newest member to our pastoral team, joining us in August 2006 after graduating from Nazarene Theological College, Manchester. Originally a Yorkshire lass, Michelle spent two summers with us prior to being here full time and her main responsibility is to mobilise people into ministry in the church, as well as administrative tasks and sometimes playing the clarinet in the worship group.
Best features: positive, keen, concerned.
